The beauty, force and energy of water have always drawn me in. And my life has always revolved around it. This pure connection I have with water is what has inspired my newest collection of work.
In much the same way that we all immerse ourselves in water, I chose to literally immerse myself in the way I painted these pieces. Instead of a brush or any other instruments, I used my hands. I drenched the canvas in water and in some cases used the force of water to manipulate the paint in just the right way.
The result has been a powerful and beautiful series of images that take advantage of the many unique and subtle hues that water creates. Made with acrylic and in some cases, just a little bit of sand, these pieces exude the natural and soulful energy that oceans, rivers and lakes have brought me since birth.
